    Kannada Summer School 2013

    Language and Culture of Karnataka (South India)
    September 2nd to 14th 2013

    The course will provide an introduction to the Kannada Language through an extensive program combining spoken Kannada with reading, writing and grammar skills. It also offers an introduction to the history and culture of the Kannada-speaking areas of the Indian subcontinent.

    Course level: Beginners without previous knowledge.

    Cost

    The Summer School is free of cost. Students need to make a small contribution towards the cost of teaching materials.

    Prof. Dr. B.A. Viveka Rai, retired professor of Kannada Literature and Folklore at the University of Mangalore, Dr. Katrin Binder, Indologist and professional performer of Yakshagana and Sarah Merkle-Schneider, M.A., doctoral student, Chair of Indology, University of Würzburg.
